ARK ASCENT – Release ‘Sanctuary’ Music Video/Single…

UK progressive metal band, ARK ASCENT, featuring former Shadow Keep vocalist Rogue Marechal and current DGM bassist Andrea Arcangeli have released a new music video and single for ‘Sanctuary‘, the song is taken from their debut album ‘Downfall‘, which is set for release in September.

ARK ASCENT was formed in 2011 as ‘Prophecy‘ around composer and multi-instrumentalist Jack Kirby, then 19. Pre-production for the tracks that were eventually going to make the cut for their debut album started that same year, with Rogue Marechal (ex-ShadowKeep) on vocal duties. It would take a few years of fine tuning before the songs were to be considered ready for mixdown and Rich Hinks (Annihilator, Aeon Zen) brought in to co-produce and mix the album.

With their first release, ARK ASCENT take you on a journey, following the fate of humankind at the onset of a major disaster that will eventually lead to its destruction. Sanctuary is the first single from the forthcoming debut album Downfall, scheduled for release this September.

“Sanctuary is the song on the album that has gone through the most changes during pre-production. Overall the album is quite dark and lyrically this one is no different, but we really wanted to make a song that had a more uplifting feel to it and the final arrangements and mix reflect this. It really is a great introduction to the band and it became the obvious choice when time came to pick a song suitable for a promo video” (Rogue Marechal).

URIAH HEEP keyboard man PHIL LANZON (GRAND PRIX, JOHN LAWTON, SWEET) has announced the release of his brand new solo album ‘48 Seconds‘, on August 2nd, 2019 via Phil Lanzon Ditties/Cargo Records UK. LANZON joined URIAH HEEP by replacing JOHN SINCLAIR.

Dream Company is a new act joining Tanzan Music records artists’ roster.
The italian melodic rockers and former Bon Jovi tribute band, will release their debut album in October 2019.

Produced by Mario Percudani (Hungryheart, Hardline), the record will be presented with a special live show at HT Factory in Milan on September 21st, as opening act for Hardline (Frontiers Records).

VISIONS OF ATLANTIS – NEW ALBUM in AUGUST….

VISIONS OF ATLANTIS will release a new album titled Wanderers on August 30th via Napalm Records. Following their chart breaking album The Deep & The Dark (2018), the band adds another spectacular album to their repertoire.

Wanderers is VISIONS OF ATLANTIS’ seventh album. The listener will be taken on a journey into the breathtaking depths of the symphonic metal universe. Wanderers offers a captivating musical and lyrical journey across the untamed seas along a powerful path towards self-discovery. It’s armed with amazing duets by Clémentine Delauney and Michele Guaitoli and is one of the most intense and profound symphonic metal albums the world has seen (or rather, heard) in the past 15 years.

VISIONS OF ATLANTIS really went all-in regarding their promotional photoshoot for the album. They chose a deserted beach along the coast of the vast Atlantic Ocean, including stranded pirate ships and a harsh coastline created by the elements. It is quite obvious why the Peninsula of Quiberon was the perfect destination for this photo shoot: the natural light and rough seas supplied a beautiful backdrop and the pictures capture the vision of Wanderers perfectly.

It’s true often recording musicians will fall in love with their ‘first take’. Matney was no different. These were his babies. Some of the songs had been around since the early ’90s and Matney had performed them with a little local trio at small local clubs, county fairs, gas stations (that’s another story) etc.. They were tried and true, but fresh off the tour with the guys Matney knew there was a certain quality live that was missing with the recordings, so under the advice of Jeremy Golden Matney made plans to record in Nashville at Jay’s place. Jay Vernelli was a friend of Matney who had produced a blues album for him some years earlier. Jay is also known for producing albums for such artist as Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood and several other well-known artists.

Rather than start from scratch in the studio again Matney decided to keep his original instrument tracks and replace only those drum tracks. It was Jay who suggested Wayne Killius as a drummer for the new project. Wayne has several gold records and has recorded hits with the likes of Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Big And Rich etc. Through late fall and much of the winter, Matney made several trips to Nashville and spent more than several hours in the studio with Wayne and Ethan Barrette from Addiction Studiosgetting the drum tracks where they wanted them. Over the last few months, the band has found itself doing some critical listening and undertaking the expensive, and time-consuming task of mixing and mastering.

WHITE BOY AND THE AVERAGE RAT BAND featuring guitarist/singer Mike Matney, bassist Daryl “Rambo” Gibson and drummer Joby Barker will soon be heading out on a tour (yet to be named) that is scheduled to kick off on August 10th in Montana on the “Rockin’ the River Festival” alongside artists such as Zakk Wylde, Cheap Trick, Dokken, Warrant, Lou Graham, Asia and more.

COLORVINE (formerly Tower City) – Release ‘Radio Days’ Fan Video

US rock band COLORVINE (formerly TOWER CITY) have released a fan video for ‘Radio Days’, the track is taken from their new melodic rock album ‘Wake Up‘, which is e out in Europe via CV Media Group/Cargo Records UK.

This isn’t the typical “come-back” story, though. Forget the band previously signed with Warner Brothers, Interscope and Atlantic, and were managed by Don Arden (the music industry legend who worked with rock icons like Ozzy Osborne, Jerry Lee Lewis and Electric Light Orchestra). For the band today, it’s 100% about the music, and the way it’s meant to be experienced.

We want to bring people back to those days of turning up the radio and singing our favorite songs – even listening to an entire album like we used to!” said band co-founder Heath Saltis. Grammy-nominated band mates Heath and Larry Saltis describe the new album as “a true passion project and labor of love two years in the making.”

With a focus on “giving the people what they want,” Colorvine proves they can still excite listeners with their own brand of melodic rock that mixes past and present; from Wake Up’s first track to its last, the album blends multiple genres into a single harmonic tour de force. It’s a refreshing change, in the era of single digital downloads, to listen to an album carefully crafted for a beginning-to-end experience.
