AOR – Releases “Heavenly Demos” on October 4th…

Frédéric Slama’ s AOR all star project is back with a 3^rd volume of great songs from the past, entitled “Heavenly Demos”. The CD features 14 tracks with some legendary singers like Paul Sabu (Only Child), Steve Overland (FM), Kevin Chalfant (The Storm) Jeff Scott Soto (Talisman), Sarah & Mélissa Fontaine (Chasing Violets), Chris Antblad (Spin Gallery), Philip Bardowell (Unruly Child), Göran Edman (Street Talk) & many more. Rain Or Shine “The Darkest Part of Me” consists of melodic hard rock tunes with the 80’s melodic rock feel. Up-lifting songs, melodic catchy ballads and huge choruses.

The album kicks off with the selftitled track which bring the brand new sound of ROS and pulls the listener to a well crafted theme followed by a great solo from Steve.
“Top of The world” takes over with the spirit of a melodic rock party and a neverending happy headbanging.
“New Love” & “Where are you now”
midtempo, strong and heavy enough to lead to the next track.
“Around the Corner” – brings the feeling of a fresh melody which you could listen to all day long on loop.
“Shot of Life” – midtempo with catchy riffs, great chorus and a fine solo guitar to complete the idea of how melodic rock should sound nowdays.
“We all back down” – And the rock ‘n’ roll party goes on…..enough said 🙂
“Back on Track” – a modern ballad will makes you sing along as you listen to….
“Into the Storm” – in my opinion could be called “the track that Gotthard never wrote back in the day”….!
“We only live once” – Last track on the album is a fine ballad and the best way to lead to the end of a great record for my taste.

Well, as final word, I’d say that in a year which have started soooo promising ….. RAIN OR SHINE will surely be part of the top releases with this record.

Rain Or Shine is a melodic hard rock band based in Athens, Greece and was formed in 2013 by Steve S.R. and Andy R. McCormick. Steve S.R. is the lead singer, plays the guitars, bass and keyboards in the project and also works as a producer and a mixing engineer. Andy R.McCormick plays the drums and the percussion. They both have been involved in several bands such as “Wild Machine”, “Perfume”, “Sex-Rated”, ”Embrace Fire” and “Backstage Love” just to name a few and performed on a series of live events with great success supporting names such as “Skid row”, “Gilby Clarke”, “Tigertailz”, “Devildriver”, “DRI”, “Rotting Christ”, “Septic Flesh”, “Crash Diet” etc. Steve studied classical guitar at an early age. At the age of fourteen he started playing the piano with a view to improving his knowledge in music theory. At the same time, he was practising electric guitar and bass. It was only a matter of time before he wrote his own songs and began recording his ideas. That motivated him to study sound engineering and work on his mixing skills. He’s been mainly influenced by band such as Bon Jovi, Giant, Winger and more modern acts such as Nickelback, Sixx A.M. etc. Andy R. McCormick started studying piano and guitar, but soon stopped and took drum lessons at the age of 13. He played in numerous cover bands mainly in metal/rock genre. His main influences were Led Zeppelin, TOTO, Tower of Power, Steven Wilson just to name a few and definitely John Bonham, Jeff Porcaro, Tommy Lee, Steve Gadd, Vinnie Colaiuta, Gavin Harrison are still his main drum influences. In 2013, Steve and Andy got into the studio to start recording their debut album “Seize the Night”. Steve composed, produced and mixed all of the songs and the album was mastered by Chris Snyder at Online Stockholm Mastering. It was released in April 2014, digitally, along with a lyric video of the single “Seize the Night”. Later, Rain Or Shine released a video performing an acoustic version of the song “Believe”. The album was later re-released in physical form by Lions Pride Music in April 2018. It received great reviews by several blogs and webzines. In 2016, they once again got in the studio for the recordings of their second album called “The Darkest Part of Me”. Steve composed, arranged, produced and mixed the album for the following two years and it was finally mastered by John Mcris at Soundflakes Studios in June 2018.

In 2018 the fans will enjoy this melodic rock masterpiece by Acadia Avenue featuring a stellar line up of vocalist including Peter Sundell (C.O.P., Grand Illusion), Dagfinn Joensen (Fate), Torben Lysholm (Pangea, Mysterell), Nicklas Sonne (Defecto, Section A) and Michael Bastholm Dahl (Artillery). Also Dennis Hansen (Section A, Fatal Force) is featured on the drums. The mastermind Torben Enevoldsen is featured on the bass, keyboards and guitars, and even sings a couple of songs himself. The worldwide known artist Carl-André Beckston was brought back again for this amazing CD artwork, Torbin has worked with Carl for almost 15 years now.

In 2016 we saw the release of a melodic rock masterpiece of the mastermind Torben Enevoldsen again with this new CD called “Early Warning”. This release includes a 12 page booklet artwork done by Blekkmark Design Studio. The new Acacia Avenue album, entitled “Early Warning”, was written and recorded during 2015 and features brilliant vocal performances by Rob Moratti (ExSaga, Final Frontier), Steve Newman (Newman), Andy Engberg (Sorcerer, ExSection A), Mats Levén (Candlemass, ExYngwie Malmsteen), Torben Lysholm (Pangea) and Albin Ljungqvist. Torben Enevoldsen (Fate, Section A) is once again playing guitar, bass and keyboards, as well as singing both lead and background vocals on a few songs. He also mixed and mastered the album at his “Funny Farm Studios”. Dennis Hansen (Section A, Fatal Force) plays drums, but the album also features a few very special guests. The idea for Acacia Avenue began back in 2008. Founding member, Torben Enevoldsen (Fate, Fatal Force, Section A), spent most of that year writing new material. Some of this new material came to be very melodic hard rock/AOR, and the idea of doing a full album in this style quickly emerged. In order to spice things up however, Enevoldsen decided to ask a few good friends of his to participate, both as singers, but also as cowriters.The debut album features Tony Mills (ExTNT, Shy), Geir Rönning (Radioactive), Torben Lysholm (Pangea, Mysterell) and Lars Säfsund (Work Of Art) on vocals. Torben did the bass, keyboards and guitars, as well as both lead and backing vocals on a few songs himself, and Thomas Heintzelmann (Decoy) did the drums. The selfentitled debut album was released on Lion Music in January 2010. The second album, entitled ”Cold”, was released on June 2014 through AOR Heaven and features vocal performances by Rob Moratti (ExSaga, Final Frontier), Steve Newman (Newman), Torben Lysholm (Pangea, Mysterell), Albin Ljungqvist, Mikael Roupé (Bamboo Brothers), Peter Sundell (Grand Illusion, Decoy) and Nicklas Sonne (Defecto, Section A). After the release of ”Cold”, Torben worked on and off on new material for a third album, and by the end of 2015, the album was completed. Rob Moratti (ExSaga, Final Frontier), Steve Newman (Newman), Torben Lysholm (Pangea, Mysterell) and Albin Ljungqvist are once again sharing vocal duties, along with Andy Engberg (Sorcerer, Ex220 Volt, ExSection A) and Mats Levén (Candlemass, ExYngwie Malmsteen). Speciel guests include Pontus Egberg (King Diamond), Peter Steincke (Fate), Anders Johansson (ExHammerfall, ExYngwie Malmsteen) and Johan Koleberg (Therion, ExSection A) Enevoldsen did the bass (except for two songs), the keyboards and guitars himself, as well as singing some lead and background vocals. Dennis Hansen (Fatal Force) did the drums (except for two songs) and as always, the majority of the recordings took place at Torben’s ”Funny Farm Studios” in Denmark. This new album, entitled ”Early Warning”, was mixed and mastered at Funny Farm Studios by Torben Enevoldsen. Enevoldsen also produced the album.

SAFFIRE – New album on APRIL 20th….

Saffire was formed in 2005 when Victor Olsson and Dino Zuzic were in school together. The idea was to form a band based on old school melodic hard rock and heavy metal but add a modern twist to it. After months of searching and auditioning, the duo was joined by Magnus Carlsson, Martin Järbur and Gustav Elowson.

In 2007 they recorded a first demo but soon after, Gustav had to leave the band and was replaced by then 17-year old Anton Roos, who had just won the Swedish Drum Solo Champion of the year contest. Another demo was recorded in 2008 and Saffire started playing shows in the local area, slowly making a name for themselves. In 2010 Martin was replaced by Tobias Jansson, and an EP was recorded and released. The band kept playing lot’s of live shows and finally in 2013, Saffire signed with Inner Wound Recordings for the release of their debut album ”From Ashes to Fire”. The album was highly praised all over the world, and Rocknytt.net, Sweden’s biggest rock website, put the album on their top 10 list of the best albums of 2013. Saffire went on to tour all over Scandinavia, playing some of the biggest festivals like Sabaton Open Air, Tons of Rock Gothenburg Sound Festival alongside bands like Slayer, Steel Panther, At the Gates and Sabaton. In November 2015 they released their second album “For The Greater Good”. The album was, as its precursor, highly praised all over the world. In January 2016 they held a sold out release show in Gothenburg which followed by a co-tour together with Spiritual Beggars in the spring. During the summer of 2016 they played many of the big rock festivals in Sweden which includes Sweden Rock Festival, Metallsvenskan, Skogsröjet and Rock in Lisch together with artists like Queen, GHOST, Twisted Sister, The Hellacopters etc…
